U11s win by 19 runs

Elstead played host to Churt Reds on another gloomy evening,which meant the match was restricted to 16 overs per side,which had also happened in the two previous matches against Churt sides this season.
Churt won the toss and put Elstead into bat.Elstead got off to a fine start and had reached 53 runs at the end of the 6th over before they lost their first wicket.However,some good bowling by Churt and some indifferent batting by Elstead,meant that only 11 runs were added in the next 6 overs,for the loss of 3 further wickets.This left returning opener Sam H to join firstly with number 11 Max S and then Jack S and together they put on 30 runs in the final 4 overs. Sam finished with a fine 33 which included 6 boundaries.
Churt's innings was blown away by a 3 wicket maiden from Will R,which left them reeling at 11 for 4 at the end of the 3rd over. However,some "generous" fielding by Elstead nearly let Churt back in the game and at 65 for 5 midway through the 13th over,it looked like there was still a game on,especially with Churt's unbeaten opener returning for a second knock. However,Ollie R bowled him and Will R polished off the tail to finish with great figures of 5 wickets for 7 runs from his three overs. Mark B,Archie W and Sam H also chipped in with a wicket apiece and Daniel Y took a fine outfield catch.
So Elstead finished victorious by a margin of 19 runs and record their fourth successive victory.
