Dogmersfield struggled to match the Elstead scoring rate against tight bowling particularly from Josh Berry, whose 4 overs cost only 23 runs. 3 wickets fell cheaply to Berry and Mark Wycherley, including that of the dangerous Ilyas, and Dogmersfield were in trouble at 27-3. But Mushtaq (24 off 18) and K Hussain (30 off 30) put Dogmersfield back in the match until both were bowled by Sewell. Tight spin bowling by the young Chris Terry (3-20 off 3 overs) ensured Dogmersfield remained behind the required run rate and wickets continued to fall at regular intervals thanks to some excellent Elstead catching, including a spectacular catch by Tye to remove Y Hussain. Tye finally removed the last Dogmersfield batsman in the 15th over with the batting side still 40 short of their demanding target.

Congratulations to Gary Sewell

Another week another century, this time Gary Sewell scored 110 not out as Elstead over-hauled Grayswood's 216 to record their second win in two weeks

 

Congratulations to Chris Mude

Chris Mude scored his maiden century for Elstead 1st XI against Cody on May 30th.  He and Josh Berry put on 169 runs as Elstead notched up a massive 278 in 45 overs.  Cody were dismissed for 148.

Godalming College

We have forged a new link with Godalming College this year.  They will use our facilities for their home matches on Wednesday afternoons.  These are usually 15/15 quick fire games, well worth a watch if your passing

Sky Sports Coach Award   We are delighted to announce that Dave Cooper has been chosen by the County Coaches Association as a 2009 Sky Sports Award Winner   The award is for "Outstanding Contribution and Services to Cricket Coaching" full details of the award will be posted on the club notice board.   Dave will receive his award at the Oval during the 5th Test v Australia on Friday 21st August.
