Another final over thriller versus Churt

Only two weeks after their final over victory against Churt Reds,Elstead faced a rain affected match against Churt's Blue team in their first home game of the 2013 seson.
After winning the toss, Elstead chose to bowl first on a damp pitch. Elstead's bowling was tight but lacked some of it's customary penetration and this allowed Churt to reach 82 for 2 in their alloted 16 overs.The two wickets fell to run outs, which was indicative of Elstead's good efforts in the field, but Churt's top contributor was extras and this has been a consistent theme in Elstead's bowling performances this season.
Elstead's innings started brightly with Will R and Sam putting on 23 runs in the 2 overs they were together in their first partnership.However,the loss of quick wickets,coupled with good bowling from Churt,lead to a period of consolidation in the middle and lower order batting,which saw Robbie,Will B,Max and Freddie retiring not out. This gave Sam and Will R the chance to come back for a second time. However,the slow scoring rate in the middle overs had left them with the difficult task of scoring 37 runs from just 14 balls and whilst they made great efforts,Elstead fell 11 runs short at the end of the game.Will R finished unbeaten on 33,including 7 well struck fours
