Report by Jon Bisley

Yet another stunning performance by the Elstead U9s on home turf this morning. Impressive fielding along with some calm and consistent batting saw the team to victory over a very capable and well disciplined Hambledon side.

Joe Ryman again lent evidence to the rumour that he was born holding a cricket bat producing a number of relaxed fours and a cheeky six.

Incredible bowling demonstrated by the unflappable Nell Jowett, taking an amazing 3 wickets in her first match this season with Ethan Rogers and Jack Soothill adding another wicket each, all delivered with pace and deadly accuracy.

This was such a close match which was decided by the last few balls.

With the scores tied on 164, sublime bowling performances by both Archie Bisley, delivering his first maiden over of the season followed by another 3 wickets taken by the ever impressive Joe Ryman in the last over saw the final scores at 164 for Elstead v 158 for Hambledon.

A huge "thank you" to all the players today and also to the fabulous Sharon Stokes and Jo Ryman for sorting the essential squash and biscuits. Ladies the team salutes you!

So, can the U9s make it 3 out of 3 when they grab their passports and head out to the wilds of Frensham next Sunday afternoon? Stay tuned...
