A Quick write up for our game with Bramley a couple of Sundays ago sees me reporting the remarkable improvement in the outfield that can only be put down to the new wig of shame. Entitled "disco sensation" this new head gear designed to be worn by those not paying attention in the field was practically redundant as "fingers" Lincoln let nothing past, The Green on the green held a mighty catch and the bowlers were asked to do long stints as we didn't fancy getting battered by a very good Sunday batting side.
Set 160 to win it was only then we saw that our usual quality bats were missing that we marginally panicked. It was down to our guest batsman and long time best mate Marc Chamberlain to hit a mighty fine, if albeit a bit slower than I remember, thirty, unlucky to get out when given a quality bat replacement he didn't know what to do with it.
A quick fire contribution from the tail (let's not talk about the middle bit) got us to the 100 mark but not a lot further. A good game, quality cakeage from the homes of Young & Lincoln set the bar very high for the rest of the season.
