At least it wasn't a loss and I believe the team can hold their heads up for a creditable performance in the field.

What was to be one of our stronger selections this season was not enough to deal with the 219 posted by the oppo. Great opening bowling from Cheese, Daz, Pat and Charlie had them pinned back and in trouble after 20 overs they had posted only 75. The second half saw them pushing on to achieve a reasonable 219. Some excellent catching from Matt and Pete Lincoln.
Given the conditions and a strong batting line up none of us felt this something we couldn't reasonably chase down in 40 overs. Indeed we started solidly getting to 80 in our first 20. After drinks and encouragement from myself to start moving things along it all went a little pair shaped. A flurry of wickets eventually led to a complete volte face and the instruction to 'park the bus' to save the defeat. Well done to Pete Lincoln on a super 43, Max, 35 and Nick 23. Also credit to Rupert and Charlie for a dogged clampdown at the end.
