A successful ladies’ day was held at the Pav today. The bad weather in the morning did not dampen the mood for the afternoon. A total 41 ladies took part in a soft ball afternoon, with 4 teams competing to be the pride of Elstead. The abilities varied from novice to county, with a few secret weapons hidden in all the teams.
The first round of matches were very close affairs, with both pitches seeing a one run victory, while the second round saw the competitive inner souls emerge. The fours started to flow, catches were made and an ice pack was required.
The capacity crowd got their money’s worth with over 250 runs and more than 15 wickets taken in the day.
Thank you:
• the Hollands for running the BBQ,
• the Disneys running the bar,
• Birdy, Dave, Jacob and Lennon for umpiring
• Jon for scoring
• Matt and Sandra – organising the food, brochure and general organisation of the day.
Many thanks to everyone for helping make the day such a success. We look forward to seeing you all turn out to support both the Elstead Ladies team and our increasing number of Junior girls next season (sign up sheets available in due course).
