Match Report by Fordy

The fifth game of the season for the Elstead Rodger’s left our skipper with a tricky decision if he won the toss. Do you bat first on a tricky pitch to help gain maximum batting points, or do you put in the team that you have already bowled out for 35 this season?
He won, he batted first and boy did the batting line up deliver.
I would be surprised if there is a better opening pair in the league than our International man of mystery and the Elstead wall. Putting on an opening partnership of 175 which was meticulous, measured and impressive. Wayno, after being dismissed for 81, hitting 10 4’s and one six, was quickly followed by his partner in crime, Keith, scoring 76 including 12 boundaries.
In came Lewis!
Taking a brief break from the sun beds he honoured us with another destructive batting performance hitting 68 not out with a strike rate of 227. He was helped out by Archie, another young talent at the club, finishing up on 13 not out. All of which gave us the mammoth total of 265/2.
Over to the bowlers!

Yet again it was Jasmine who stole the show taking another 4 wickets which now gives her 8 wickets in two matches. She was helped out by Sam who took another wicket also taking him to 8 wickets this year. Henry Bird took his first wicket for Elstead two’s and showed he can be a pivotal part of the side this year. The skipper and vice captain chipped in with 3 wickets between them but couldn’t quite get that final wicket to bowl them out for maximum points.
All in all a great all round performance from the team with every player playing a vital part in the 4th victory in a row this season.

Big weekend ahead with the top six all playing one another.
